Summer Transfer Academy and Resources for Success (STARS)

 Program description:

The Summer Transfer Academy and Resources for Success (STARS) is a free summer residential program designed to help community college bound high school students successfully navigate the community college system in order to transfer to a four-year university. (Please note: this program is intended for Seniors who intend to enroll at a California Community College in Fall 2014.)

STARS is a 4 day/3 night program taking place at the UC Merced campus and runs from June 26, 2014- June 29, 2014. Your day will include a series of workshops that will provide you with valuable tools and information including:

  •
  • UC/CSU admissions requirements
  • How to Write a College Level Essay
  • Financial Aid
  • Study Skills
  • Community College resources
  • How to choose a major
  • How to Transfer

You'll also have the chance to speak with admissions representatives from both UC and CSU campuses about their academic programs.
