What is ERA?

The Empowering to Reach Achievement (ERA) Program targets community college bound high school seniors who are interested in transferring to a four year university or college.  The ERA Program consists of four critical components.

ERA Students

Students who participate in the ERA program will have the benefit of being educated about the transfer pathway.  Our transfer adviser will work closely with these students to ensure they meet the requirements and transfer succuessfully.  ERA students are required to attend a MINIMUM of two events or workshops and meet with the transfer advisor at least twice throughout their senior year in order to really benefit from being in the ERA Program.

ERA Transfer Advising

Our ERA Transfer Advisor will assist ERA students who participate in the program and make sure these students understand the transfer process and UC/CSU admissions requirements.  Our ERA Transfer Advisor will ensure that these students are on track to matriculate to the community college and prepare them to start looking at classes towards their major of choice which are transferrable to a CSU/UC.  The ERA Transfer Advisor will meet bi-monthly with ERA students to help with any of their conerns, give advice and to see how the students have progress.

ERA Workshops

Throughout the academic year the ERA Program will have a series of workshops geared towards helping the students discover their career goals, finding the university that would best fit them, and educating them on how to navigate the transfer pathway.

ERA Events

ERA Events allow for students to have the time necessary to learn about financial aid, resources and services available to them at the community college, and explore what other colleges and universities have to offer them.  These events are meant to be educational and fun.
